About Elizabeth Amoriello

I have always been hesitant to give a definite answer when I am asked to define who I am. I am hesitant because I believe that “who I am” is constantly changing. I am not who I used to be, and I will not always be who I am now. In an attempt to define my identity, I usually result to a description of how I spend my time. I paint, so I am an artist. I write, so I am a writer. I sing and play guitar, so I am a musician. I research and examine issues of politics, social justice, and environmental justice, so I am an advocate. I recently graduated from Millersville University, but for the last four years, I was a student.

Approximately halfway through high school, I became a "writer." My love of writing is the result of my sophomore English class. In that class, I was introduced to classic works of literature that I became fascinated and inspired by. I began writing creatively in hopes that one day I could inspire others like the authors I studied in that class.  I became an “advocate” in college. My interest in politics, social justice, and environmental justice started through the study of rhetoric in my core English classes.

The “student” aspect of my identity recently came to a finale, as I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Writing Studies with a minor in Government and Political Affairs from Millersville University. As my identity unfolds, I hope to replace the “student” aspect of my identity with a job title relating to writing, politics, social justice, or creativity.
